Bump In The Road

Hello friends and family!
There is always a bump in the road, a pothole, or otherwise some sort of barricade at times. Today was no exception.
Last week Russ went to John Hopkin's for his biopsy so that the doctors would know exactly what kind of chemotherapy drug to use for his treatment. The plan of care is to treat him with both chemo and radiation for 3 weeks, followed by a week "off." They will then treat with another 3 weeks of chemo only.
Now for the "bump," human error. The doctor who performed the biopsy did not get a sample of the tumor, rather he extracted a sample of tissue from the common bile duct.
This means it must be done again, which means another procedure and a stall in getting this hideous disease killed!
Stayed tuned. Word has it that the doctor is arranging something this very night and I will have an update tomorrow.
Meanwhile, we are going to visit mom and Russ tomorrow and HOPEFULLY crack open some bee hives and see how his ladies are doing. They are in need, I am sure, of some provisions as the winter has been colder than usual. Luckily the pollen patties I ordered arrived today so now all we need is good news from the doc and sunshine and warm weather for the bees.
